Heartland Flyer Update

This relates to the Amtrak’s Texas-Oklahoma Heartland Flyer. This train, besides being important in its own right, could someday be extended to Wichita and points North.

This dream Link, like that of our own “Rocky Mountain Flyer”, would multiply the connectivity of our passenger Rail network by connecting parts of Amtrak’s four East-West routes from Chicago to the West Coast.

Texas’ budget does not include its share of the cost in the final version. Oklahoma has set forth its contribution but if TX fails to find the money Amtrak says the train may cease
